Wedding Tips
Call the
minister early.
An experienced pastor knows the ropes and can help
you immensely. Contact your minister and
arrange a
meeting to map out your wedding. He/she can
help you avoid potholes, reduce stress, and he
probably knows many vendors and can save you money.
Hire a hostess.
A hostess saves the
day. She assists the bride, checks vendors, organizes
the wedding, seat the guests, times the
wedding, and more. Asking a friend lays a tremendous burden on her. I recently
watched a woman frazzle trying to host her
friend's wedding. Check
out our experienced hostess. You
can also hire her months in advance for full wedding
coordination to help with
everything from invitations to dress.
pre-marriage coaching.
We often coach married couples fighting issues that should never be on the
table: He refuses children, she craves them; he can't
stand her parents; she is deep in debt; he drinks
heavily; rejection, criticism and more. Marriage is not about finding the perfect mate, it is
about
finding a mate with whom you can mature. For that you need
the tools pre-marriage coaching provides.

Rehearsal
Plan a rehearsal. Eliminate the fear of the best man facing the wrong way,
missed music cues, or worse. Invite the attendants and
all involved in the wedding. We do two
run-throughs to insure a smooth wedding. For the dinner consider an
inexpensive restaurant or dining at someone's home.
Budget
Most of your wedding budget goes to the venue and
food.
Do you need a dinner for all guests? Meals are
costly so consider light foods. Start with essentials, cake cutting, toasts, first dance, etc.
and build from there. Weekdays are usually
less expensive for vendors and venues.
Cake
Use a show cake for cutting and serve guests from
hidden sheet cakes. And shop around.
Some bakers double prices for a wedding.
