The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work.  Dr. Gottman can listen to a couple talk for a few minutes and predict if they will make it or crumble.  After reading this book so will you.  The principles in this book may surprise you, but they work.
     Dr. Gottman video taped couples to learn why marriages succeed or fail.  After viewing hundreds of hours of couples living in an apartment during a weekend, he distilled seven principles to help you. 
     The book begins with why marriages fail. Here you will learn about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and about their destructive power.  Gottman then describes why marriages fail or succeed and finally dedicates a chapter to each principle. 
     He also discusses how to handle tough unsolvable problems that he calls gridlock. For example, she wants to attend church, but hubby does not believe.  An excellent, practical guide full of checklists to measure your marriage.
